STRIVE DC, Inc. has helped me become a better person and successful in life. I graduated from STRIVE DC on June 29, 2001. The training helped me become a stronger person to talk about my problems dealing with family. STRIVE DC has taught me a lot. Mr. Bradshaw taught me a lot about opening up to an individual. I can always come to the Trainers, Job Developer or Executive Director to discuss my problems. The negative things in my past I choose not to do any longer. Now I help teach the other students how to use the fax and copy machines.

           I started out as a volunteer cleaning the building, and now at the new building I have a position as a Maintenance Man. My responsibilities are to clean up which mean vacuum, clean baseboards, walls, desks, empty trash, restore basement from water damage, answer telephones and maintain the outside of the building. I am also a messenger and errand boy that answers phones and makes copies and faxes. I am not lazy and I am easy to get along with. I enjoy my position working with my fellow co-workers. My services are needed and I am always available and always on time.
