Local men’s store donates suits to STRIVE DC  -  James Clothier is offering a great deal to men who purchase a new suit from them.    The James Clothiers 2nd Annual Suits for Success Program

The James Clothiers 2nd Annual Suits for Success Program is one of the ways they give back to those in need in our community. Bring in any suit in good wearable condition and they will  a $300 credit on your purchase of any suit, sport coat or outer wear in stock at James Clothiers*. All donated suits will be delivered to Strive DC.

Building facelift

STRIVE DC building getting a much needed facelift.   STRIVE DC is working with Yachad  (will give you the link)   to get a new facelift.    We want the building to look professional because we are trying to teach professionalism. When the carpets are stained and the building looks worn down, we feel worn down. It would be so nice to work and teach in a building that we are proud of.”

11th Year Anniversary

Workplace DC

Workplace DC – through a collaborative partnership between the STRIVE DC, Academy of Hope, Center for Economy Employment, Jubilee Jobs, Wider Opportunity for Women.  The purpose of the Workplace DC is providing supportive services to hard-to-serve residents from Washington, DC.

Green jobs training

Green Jobs Training – through a partnership with ARS, Inc.  STRIVE DC is training DC residents to become certified home energy auditors.

Two contracts awarded

In September 2010, STRIVE DC was awarded two contracts from the DC Department of Employment Services.
